Topic: Does anyone have a dream none-pedal steel? |

Mine would be a 12 string, 24 inch scale with the strings spaced 3/8 of an inch at both the nut and bridge, with two special built pickups wired like a Musicman Stingray 2.
The body would either be built from bamboo, carbon with graphite fibers or a combination of both.
It would have four legs and hopefully be light.
It would be tuned to E13. |

...but I havn't built it yet.
When I do, I'll try a 10 stringer with a long scale, just to see if that's even better than my short scale 8 str. Magnatone.
If it beats that, then I may go into production with some very unique steels, with even multi-necks that can be lifted with a single finger.
But that's what I said a year ago, and still havn't managed it yet... |

| I am working with Mike Hauver who builds Stella ladder braced guitars. We are colaborating on a new Hawaiian Conservatory style acoustic lap steel. Square neck, seven string, birch concert size body and spruce top. I love my 1930's Ohau but it's not a solo instrument. Most likey A or E major with the seventh string on the bottom for 7th, 6th or dom 7th option. |

Escaping the realm of dreams,temporarily...I started
building an 11-string non-pedal instrument eons ago,
had Kent Armstrong construct a super P-U,got maybe
half-ways,and then...I decided to take a "break"
from Steel Guitar..."The Eleven"(ref to the Grateful
Dead composition intended)has been in a storage room
for 15 years,but...where was I..?..yes,that guitar
must have been a "dream project" when I planned it,
and I´m about to complete it pretty soon,it´s half
vintage before it´s even put together...McUtsi |

My Dream was to own a Rick Aiello 8 string Dustpan and thanks to Gary Lynch, my dream came true a few weeks back when he sold me his.
I had to drive 300 miles to get it, but I didn't regret a single minute of it (beautiful drive) and have been beside myself every since with its sound and overall presence.
Given Rick's backlog before he shut down retail, I thought I'd never own one, but I guess I've been livin' right somehow.
Now, I need to find a new dream...maybe a Koa Frypan or one of those Clinesmith's I've been reading about. |

Yes, Richard; And I'll bet it must be a short~scale T–7, tuned C6, E6 and B11! (And only 9” wide, with bar-dings in the ‘sides’ of the necks.)
