Most welding supply shops should have a verity of rods to choose from, both in sizes and type of meterial make up.

As another option, you can probably find what you need at McMaster-Carr:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

Type "metal rods" into the search box and take it from there. They have rods in all kinds of materials, diameters, and lengths.

By the way, do any of you know what pull rods are usually made of? Mine (old Sierra) look like they're probably stainless steel.

They've been made with everything from coathangers to rusty cold rod, brass, aluminum & stainless. Think I even saw one with titanium rods. Stainless rod are the best choice, both for looks & economy & last longer without wear. All this is my opinion of cource. Andy H.
