I have a CD with BIAB song files and wish to load them to BIAB program without disturbing the existing song file, thanks.

What do you mean by "existing song file"? Normally, you would just copy and paste the song files from the CD to the BB directory in order to make them readily available to BIAB. If there are files with the same name in the BB directory, they will be overwritten with the copied files--is that what you mean?

If that's the case, you'll either have to rename the files in the
BB directory, or you can load a song directly off the CD. To do that, from BIAB, press either Control+Shift+F3, or Alt+Shift+F3 to bring up one of the two custom Load dialogs. Then browse to your CD and select the song you want to load directly off the CD.

Absolutely, there is no need to cut and paste.

Firstly, you must make a folder in the BIAB folder that will contain all your own special songs. Then, put the CD, with the BIAB files, in the CD drive and use the change directory icon to navigate to the CD drive. BIAB has an icon that looks like a file folder with a little red heart over the folder. Hold down the Shift key and click on that icon. This will open the folders/drives you have on your computer. You can maximize the window with normal window controls. Click on the CD drive and then OK. Next, click the Open icon on BIAB's tool bar. The Open icon is between the New and Save icons. Double click the BIAB file (song) that you wish to open and it will load into BIAB.

Secondly, you may want to modify the file (song) without making any change to the file on the CD. I assume that the CD is RW because a standard CDR cannot be modified except to erase/delete an entry. Before going any further when the file is opened in BIAB, click the Save AS icon on the Biab tool bar. You will see a folder in a window. In that window, the is an icon with a folder that has a green arrow, click on it and you move up one folder. Navigate to your hard drive and the folder that I told you to make at the beginning of this rant. Open that folder with a double click. Now, type the name that you wish this new song file to have and press Save. For this session, until you navigate to different folder any time that you Save, your new song file will go the folder with your songs.

Sounds long and complicated but this is a standard procedure that once done is very easy to remember and perform.

Have fun. I have more than 16,000 BIAB files that I arranged on my hard drives with this procedure.
