I swapped the stock pickup in my SD10 RP with an E66. I did it more for the quietness of a humbucker, because the stock pickup sounded fine. I had my tech friend install it. Just "follow the leads", as they say. Smile You'll have to break off the side tabs to fit it in the cavity, and just use the end tabs for the screws.

Mike, if you don't do solder work (I don't), it should cost about $20-$30 to have it installed at a local shop. $600 to install a pickup? That's insane. Smile If you do bring it to a local shop, make sure you have the strings taken off or at least detached, to cut down on bench time (which costs money). The tech can check its function without the strings on the guitar.

Once it's installed, you can raise or lower the pickup to your preference with the end screws. I have mine pretty close to the strings, about two quarters' width.

Mike - Check your e-mail. If you can handle the jack repair, you should be able to change out the p/u without a problem.
