Today, Sun Corporation has released an update to their ubiquitous Java Virtual Machine application and plug-ins, to fix a dozen critical vulnerabilities.

Some vulnerabilities have been reported in Sun Java, which can be exploited by malicious people to bypass certain security restrictions, cause a DoS (Denial of Service), or potentially compromise a user's system. |
Installations of any versions of Java prior to 6.0.130.0 are insecure and potentially expose your system to security threats! They should be uninstalled and the new version installed as soon as possible. Do this from each browser you have on your computer, so they each receive the proper plug-in update. Then, close the browsers to let the changes take effect. You may also need to restart your computer to replace Java applets that were in use during the update process.
You can download the new Java VM here, from Sun. Or, use the Secunia Online Software Inspector to find all insecure software and download updates via the supplied links. I recommend checking the option to only display insecure software in the results. _________________ "Wiz" Feinberg, Moderator SGF Computers Forum
