I have a calendar enbedded into my Vista desktop background and I cannot figure out how I got it there.
This calendar is not associated with the sidebar (I can remove that one at will) but it's lays on the desktop in it default position in the upper right-hand corner.
Any clue as to how I can remove this? I want to use the sidebar calendar instead. |

Leroy,
Go to start/help and support(bottom of right hand list)/table of contents/customize computer/windows sidebar and gadgets overview, there it will tell how to arrange/rearrange, remove stuff.H&S is a good starting point to doing stuff.......Have fun.

Thanks Bill.
I've been inside that path several times and I haven't found anything that will allow me to remove this calendar.
This calendar is not associated with the Sidebar as I can manipulate that device OK.
I'll keep looking. This is about to drive me to drink. |

Leroy, check and see if you have Yahoo Widgets in Add/Remove Programs, or anything with the word "widget" or "calendar" in it for that matter. |

Thanks John.
I am still working on it but had to put it aside for a few day because of a minor illness. I'll be back to it in the next several days. |

Ok, good luck. Also don't discount what Bill said, since it is possible to tear widgets off of the sidebar and have them stay on their own. That might be what happened here, so you should definitely confirm that the sidebar calendar is not turned on. I don't have Vista so I'm not exactly sure how you'd do that but it looks like Bill give clear instructions above.
If you exhaust the possibilities with the sidebar then I would look for another widget program in the list of installed programs, I asked about yahoo widgets because it's a fairly popular one. |

I feel so stupid!!
I just discovered that the calendar is from my Webshots Screen-saver program--it has nothing what-so-ever to do with Windows. I apparently selected that option when I downloaded the screen-saver.
I found this by accident otherwise, I'd still be looking.
Thanks to everoyone who replied!
