Have you ever bought a CD or record and lose it before you play it? Happened to me with Patty Loveless' Sleepless Nights. Found the CD in one of my guitar cases and man what I missed. Some of the best steel and back up band work you'll ever hear. The band reads like a parade of star session players. Steel guitar work by Pete Finney and Al Perkins to die for. True country music only allowed on this one and Patty does a super job on the 'oldies'.

You won't find better Nashville Steel than that produced by Pete and Al, a couple of my favorite pickers, on this album. Killers both. Smile Smile If you're really an oldies fan this one is for you.

I completely agree. The nice part is that when you see her live, it's just as good, with Pete doing the honors on pedal steel. Last September's show here was the best major-act country show I've seen in years.

There are numerous venues within a reasonable driving distance from my home. I can't help but to notice not a single booking is in New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Vermont. Hmmmm! I'd have plenty to say about agencies who handle the bookings, if I become so tempted.

Bill, they had a bunch of gigs in the northeast last fall. There were a couple of threads on this then (including one started by me with a link to the tour page).

Dave,

It reminds me of the Don Adams shoe tricks. How long must a fan wait for a return visit? Do you know if Patty ever performed at the Eastern States Exposition? I would say that virtually every female recording artist in (country music) has booked there over the years, as well as their male counterparts out of Nashville. It's just an hour's drive from where I live.
