Harley James has always been my Local Steel God. He and I were the Original Sunny Pleasure Fan Club, and Bo Cody Alumni.
The Buckles are his latest band and they are fantastic to be sure.
Its a Sunday afternoon 2:00 show. I'm missing a rehearsal that won't do any good anyhow...
For directions and info call John or Evelyn 503-659-6947 according to the email I got. By Saturday Doug and myself will be able to email them. It's just out of Oregon City.
Doug Jones, Myself, Hopefully Larry, Ray, Pete, Lynn, John, Dale, Mike, Adrian, and the whole bunch will show up.
The cover is 5$, but I think we might be able to chisel Harley down a little.
There are some other Great Players in that band, though they aren't Steel Players.
Worth catching while they're still playing at cheaper places. I doubt I'll be able to afford them in a year or so...

Yuppa - I'll sure be there. This gig's about a 1/2 mile from my house! The Buckles are one of my favorite bands in the Portland area. They're all great players with a cool song catalog...no one else like them around here. And Harley's steel playing? The guy's awesome. Show up if you can. Eric and Doug will be there. If Larry shows up, it'll be like a mini steel convention. Y'all come! It's sure to be a great time.  |

Sounds like that "Little meeting in the Catskills" that got so much publicity in the late 50s.
Me and Diego are bringing our Full Arsenal in case it's a set up for some kind of massacre.
