The Steel Guitar Configurator

Post by Ann Fabian »

The Steel Guitar Configurator by John Fabian of Carter Steel Guitars:

We have some fun in store for you if you wish to check out our Steel Guitar Configurator.

This innovative method of putting together your own brand new Carter with your own custom color(s) and pickup choice will allow much easier and more accurate ordering.

The Configurator allows you to change the complete single overall mica color or to create 2-tone designs with the top being one mica color and the aprons being another and SEE what you have created! You may then select the pickup you desire; and then place your order by pressing the PURCHASE button!

Although custom Carter models and configurations, such as S-12DB and D-12, are not supported in The Configurator ordering system, you may actually see basically what the Carter would look like by viewing it in its 10-string equivalent.

Also, although lacquer finishes are not shown in The Configurator at this time, due to the infinite variety of shades and tints possible, you may view many of the lacquer possibilities and our Custom Shoppe, both of which we show on our web site if you wish.

These pages are large (1-2 Mb) and not recommended for dial-up if you are the 'get-it-done-right-now' type.

:o Caution: John says: very ugly combinations are possible -- so we are not responsible for bad taste or shocked eyeballs.

Have fun and let us know how your Configurator adventures go!
