I have a chance to buy this Pedalmaster. I really do not know too much about them. Any thoughts on how much it is worth? I think the guy wants around $500.
He said he might have another interested party, so time is of the essence.
Thanks,
Todd

Just figure that you will have to put even more money into it to get it playable. It sure doesn't look that way now.
I'd pass on it. It's $500 down the drain that could be put toward something decent. |

Hey Thanks Guys for the quick replies. I am going with the majority vote here and will walk away. My only steel is a 72' single neck Shobud that works and sounds great. I have always had the desire to have a double neck steel, but as you stated, too much work needed on this one.
Thanks Again
Todd
PS. Due to your recommendations, my wife will probably go on a date with any of you guys. |

Totally non functional. Its a sin to what people do to steel guitars. |

At best, it could probably be cleaned up and converted to a non-pedal D-10. |

The birds eye maple, may be worth considering, depending on the beauty. How about some better pics of the front and rear aprons? Might be worth offering something. _________________ Bill Bailey

I would walk away from it too, he said it was a pedal master but it looks more like an old Sho-Bud with some home made parts under it, be very careful and walk away. |

It is a pull-release system, suitable for a tinkerer who likes a challenge, and has the time to make it workable.
Looking at the photos, I think cabinet drop could be a problem.
I think about 300 dollars maximum |

looks like a body waiting for a new steel to be built under it. |

You could put $1,000 into that, and then you'd have a good $500 guitar. Basically, it's junk. Crossrods (removed?) may not all be there, and the mechanical parts look beat. Keyheads may be usable (but I can't even tell if they have rollers). Legs might be okay for spares, but I doubt all those scratches would polish out. Pickups may work, may not, but odds are against both being good. The body? Well, you can't really tell much by the photos. So...you got about $200-$250 worth of possibly usable spare parts. Someone with a lot of time on his hands and a lot of skill could resurrect it, but it would never be worth the time and money that was put into it. |

Hi Todd, If that inst. is in fact a Pedalmaster it is a very old guitar. The present owner of Pedalmaster, Roy Thomas, builds great guitars. I have been playing Pedalmasters for years and really like the guitars. Roy Thomas purchased the company from a man in Arkansas many years ago. You can contact Mr. Thomas at 318 893 6418 or 318 893 6716. He is in Maurice, Louisiana. He can give you the info on that guitar. Jody. |

From the various appointments and design features, I'd say that's a very early '60s guitar. |
