My new Christmas CD

Post by Jon Graboff »

I'd like to announce my instrumental Christmas CD. It's not strickly a pedal steel record but there is a ton of steel on it as well as acoustic and electric guitars, electric 12 string, nylon string, high string, electric sitar, dobro (both kinds), mandolin, mandocello; all played by yours truly. I was accompanied by some great musicians and friends including: Dennis Diken (Smithereens) and Louis Appel (Southside Johnny) on drums, Steve Alcott (Western Caravan) and Jeremy Chatzky (Ronnie Spector) on Bass, Andrew Carillo (Joan Osborne) rhythm guitar and Dave Amels (Swingin' Neckbreakers) on keyboards.
The CD contains a mixture of familiar Christmas fare and some more obscure ones. And one I wrote myself. Available at www.confidentialrecordings.com
Happy Holidays!

I've been enjoying this most original and creative album greatly. It shows off John's steel playing, but also his guitar as well, and he's a local legend in NYC for both these (for example, he's Laura Cantrel's steel player).

These are different and unusual arrangements of mostly standards with some original songs too; and among other qualities, there's a sense of humor working too--great.

Highly recommended!

I wholeheartedly recommend this CD -- and not just because I played on it! It's worth listening to all year round.

I have my copy and it is a musical treat. Jon adds a touch of intelligence and taste that is a breath of fresh air.
