1989 ISGC Buddy Emmons Blues In "C"

Post by Bill Ferguson »

I believe you will like this one. For all you amplifier buffs, the amp of the day was a Peavey Session 500 (wow, backbreaker)

I have been corrected on the title of the song. Jim Cohen looked it up and it is Blues In C, not At "E's"
Sorry

AUTHORIZED PEAVEY, George L's, Goodrich dealer. I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables and Peavey Nashville-Session 112 or 115.

Very cool, Bill, many thanks for that, but it ain't 'At Es'. I'm forgetting the name right now, but it doesn't have the 'At E's' head on it.

But thanks anyway!

Jim, are you sure? I could have sworn that was the name. Oh well, great song anyway.

Yeah, Bill, I'm sure. 'At E's' has that cool chromatic intro that's mostly angular steel and bass. Dis ain't it. Dis I know.

Ok, I checked it out. It's simply called "Blues in C". I have it on the "Buddy Emmons Live in Boston, July 1977" CD.

What steel is E playing on this video? It sounds thinner than he usually does.

Quite familiar. As noted in the video credits. The great Brent Mason, just much younger than he is now.
