I'll play with Gas Money at the Pourhouse in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. I just started playing with this group and am still struggling with their playlist, so don't expected anything impressive from me. I hesitate to even post this here, but I'm trying to place more importance on meeting any Forum members in NYC than on keeping my pitiful playing a secret. We play neorockabilly and alt country, "with punk flavoring," according to a review. I play pedal steel and tenor sax. It's a rockin' group and I just do a lot of wild pedal mashin' and try to keep up. Six Gun Republic is also playing, and I think they have a no-pedal steeler.

Nick, we play around 11:00, so I'm told. You can call the Pourhouse for more info. Hope you can come by. Look for a nervous, skinny, medium height, salt and pepper curly haired guy with glasses and a goatee.

It was a blast, but what a dive. I drove around the block three times looking for the Pourhouse. Had to park my van and search door-to-door on foot. We set up in the corner by the front door and lined up right across from the bar. The bass player had to move out of the way every time someone came in the front door. It was mostly a rockabilly crowd, so I played a lot of 6th neck and sax. A wild dancer knocked the mic into our singer's face, but he dodged it. Six Gun Republic's steeler moved to Hawaii (I forget his name). Someone from Bloodshot records out of Chicago came to hear us...we'll see what happens. Bloodshot is presenting a bunch of their alt country groups at Union Pool Saturday afternoon as part of the CMJ festival, whatever that is. Lots of interesting looking babes with nerdy guys at the Pourhouse...hmmm. I could have probably made more money at the pool table than they paid us. I think that about covers it. Oh yeah, the Yankees lost - sweet. But I didn't let anyone there know I felt that way. See ya next time, Brooklyn.

Geez. Suddenly I have more appreciation for Hanks. Never been to your Pourhouse--don't get around Williamsburg much. Glad you had fun. Would have loved to have been there but as I 'splained in the email.....Hopefully next time.

Jon,

Not to worry. Compared to Hank's the Pourhouse is like the Russian Tea Room.

I know it's really none of my business...& I'm not trying to "start anything," BUT...why don't you list where you're located? It kind of makes you seem like you're "in hiding," or something...although, you ARE a "FORUM MEMBER."

Just a thought...

It probably wouldn't matter. Even though I list myself as being from Brooklyn, I'm really from Mars. Don't tell anyone.

David, you are the first person to make a statment like that. What are you implying?
I have nothing to hide. Its too small to hide.It hides itself.

Most Forum members are aware of the reason I hide my e mail address, why dont you start a thread and ask the Forum members what you are sking me.

FYI I am not to far from where you are.I dont know what youre problem is,perhaps if you start a thread regarding your question, your problem can be answered by the majority and not by me. And you are correct.

Elliot Ness edited to ask David...are you planning to visit me? anyone is welcome.
Ask Joey Ace and Dave Van Allen..I pick my friends as I pick my guitars. You are off to a bad start my friend. Nosey??

Forum Rules permit anyone to not pubically list their Email and/or Location, as long as their (private) Forum Registration has that info.

Some high-profile members choose this option. Others chose it because they were at one time harrassed.

It's a personal choice.

Let's get back on Topic, please.

To David Rupert.

Dave..I was in Fishkill today and thought of you,I had to go to BJ's,and then to the Poughkeepsie Galleria to buy a pair of pants
Somebody keeps stealing my pants. I think its Joey Ace but dont tell anyone..

David, the truth of the matter is I hide my e mail address because I am in the witness protection program.

I used to be a hit man for Carlo Gambino's five families.

Ever want to meet me? I'll meet you at the Galleria and even buy you a hot pretzel and a
soda.. someone told me you were an OK guy..its a good thing or I would have put a contract out on you with a two week option.

Be well my inquisitive friend Peace.

Need my e mail?? ask Joey the Ace of Ace's.

Joey...Dear sweet, wonderful Joey,

Calm down, bro! I wasn't trying to imply, that you were up to anything "Illegal," at all! I was just curious, as to why you never list your location. Nothing at all, more than that. 99.9% of the members (even the Big E), list their location. If you don't want to...I could care less, I was just politely asking. I've been wondering about this...for a LONG time.

Ironic, that you're not too far from me. "A little too ironic, I really do think."

We probably cross paths, on a regular basis? I do my grocery shopping at Stop & Shop...next to BJ's, in Wappingers Falls.

Well, I'm sorry that I've upset you. I appologize, sincerely. Basically, I'm an unhappy person...who won't be truly happy, until the day I finally die.

Again...Sorry for all of this. Love & Peace!

Email me, if you want to. Bye.
