My daughter gave me an external hard drive she had. It has rock music on it now. I want to erase it and put my music on it. Can i do this with my Windows operating system? Cass

Yes Cass. Connect the external drive so it is assigned a drive letter in My Computer ("Computer" in Windows Vista). Find the icon for that drive letter and right click on it (make sure you have the right drive!). From the flyout options list select "Format." Answer Yes to format and if asked which file system to use, select NTFS (otherwise, leave the file system intact). Proceed with the Format and all data on the drive will be deleted and it will be ready to write new data.

Wiz, thank you so very much. She has hip hop videos and songs on it. She said to erase it, but never told me how. You're a prince. Cass
