Emmons push pull Double 12

Greetings, I am working on an old Emmons double 12. I traded for this guitar several years ago and it came with the lower neck partially dis-assembled. I am wondering what tuning and changes might have been on this steel, or what all of the other double 12 push pull players are using. I play on a 2-10 at present and thought it might be best not to get too exotic. This guitar has an 8 x 4 setup and will probably add 2 more knees. Any Thoughts will be helpful. Thanks

The late Chick Donner had 2 double 12 Emmons P/P's. I believe both of his Guitars had extended E9th and extended C6th. Also you might want to talk with forum member "Ric Epperle". He plays a MSA super sustain double 12. Not sure what his tunings are.

Check with Mickey Adams......I think he still has an Emmons pp D-12.

On the C neck, I like having the standard C6 tuning on strings 2 - 11 with a D on the 1st string and low A on the 12th. That's just me, although I know Bobby Black had his set up that way back in the 70's, and you can get some great riffs with both the D and G on the top. I've got 4 D12's set up like this.

The 4th pedal has a Franklin pedal for the E9 neck, which I am leaving on there just because it is already there. A traditional C6 player might want the traditional C6 4th pedal there.

Thanks to everyone for the info. I will try to contact the other 12 string players as suggested. I have found so many different tunings, scanning the internet, and all seem to have unique and useful qualities. Setting the steel up is not a permanent thing so I can always change things later. All of the input from other forum members sure can save time and frustration though. This is a great learning center. Many thanks to all.

I saw a nice looking D–12 Emmons P/P over at Bobbe's yesterday. I didn't check out the copedent, but; the necks had these basic tunings:
E9 = E~G#~B~D~E~F#~G#~B~E~G#~D#~F#
C6 = C~F~A~C~E~G~A~C~E~G~B~D
