Marty Stuart features Gary Carter steel guitar solo
Marty on RFD-TV featured Gary playing "Where's this place called Lonely Street" on tonight's show. Gary also did a great job backing Connie Smith.
Chris Scruggs did a great break on his double neck Fender long leg steel.
Who said steel guitar is dead?
Thank God for Marty Stuart and RFD-TV.
The show will be repeated 12:00am on the 20th channel 345 on Direct TV.

I don't care, for a 30 minute show which is basically 22 minutes, we are trading the hokey banjo goofy jokes for a great song by MS, Connie, the guest, or perhaps another Steel Guitar Instrumental !
60 minute show ? fine put the hokey banjo guy in there..
just me

I never said it was broke, I just think the hokey banjo guy is too goofy. Where's Buck Trent ? Oh that's right, Branson. My friend Brett Crisp may have an opportunity to play that show this year.I hope it works out for him.
I just want more Connie, Marty, Telecasters and Steel Guitars !
The MS show is great, I agree, I just put it on mute when the hokey banjo guy comes on..sorry..at least my "MUTE" button ain't broke !

and all those shows are off the air !
Comedy ? Here's a few Banjo jokes Henny Youngman style
"Now take that guy with the Banjo over there, please "
"Our bands banjo player told me he got a job with another band, I said, "Let me drive you to the gig" "
"I took the banjo player to an open jam, I had to throw in some cash"
"The Banjo player is a real pain in the neck; of course, some people have a lower opinion of him."
"The banjo player willed his brain to Science. Science is contesting the will."
" The banjo player convict was about to go to the electric chair. He called his lawyer for advice. the lawyer says, "Don't sit down."
happy monday..

We still don't get RFD-TV with our cable provider out here, but I'm stoked - Marty & The Superlatives will be playing over the mountain from me at the Napa Valley Expo in mid-August.
It's been number of years since he has come through through the wine country of California, and I've never seen him in concert.

Guys, the criticism may be warranted but we all need to support the show with letters to the sponsors. It will get better. Right now its the best shot at getting real country music back on national T.V. If you have a clown or two in there look past it. Lets get behind Marty and start writing letters of praise. He is doing this for us. Just one letter to a sponsor would make a difference.
I too could do without banjo clown.
Unfortunately most people who watch are not steel players and at any given time I bet there are more banjo players than steel players watching.
If you took a poll of viewers to choose who would have to go between the Steel player and the banjo player, the steel player would likely be looking for a job.

Lemme see - RFD-TV (Rural Free Delivery, right?), banjo, hayseed comedy - I just can't imagine how that would go together. Huh? I'll also bet there are more banjo players in the audience.
I admit that I only get to see this when visiting - our cable doesn't carry it. Maybe RFD-TV should get "with it" like the rest of the music biz and get some guys with ripped up blue jeans, 3 days of beard growth, and manicured long hair playing Les Pauls through Marshall stacks in front of a really LOUD drummer. Now that's country. I guess it just goes to show you can't please everybody.
