Hi Jr, I haven't seen you since the Charlie Horse In Lancaster, Ohio in about 1981-82 When I played with the Lancers. The last I heard you were supposed to be in Myrtle Beach.

This sounds like it's going to be one heck of a show! Wish I could attend to hear some great Steel Guitar Music.

Jr is a terrific player, too! I met him when he played the 'Country Christmas' show in Pigeon Forge a couple of years back.

Sorry to say that due to family obligations I'm going to miss this one. Image

I wanted to boost it to the top of the list, just the same.

I hope the show is a complete success and that you all have a great time.

See you in Lexington...

I live around 4 hours away, and if I can find someone interested in going I am going to try and make it. How much is the admission price? Also, does anybody know the schedule?

I had a great time at the 6th annual Chubby Howard Steel Guitar Jam. Unfortunately, I got there late and the only local player I got to hear was Kenny Holycross, who sounded great. The "headliners", Russ Hicks, Jerry Brightman and Randy Beavers, all sounded fantastic. Each one of them has incredible technique and it was interesting to hear the different styles each one of them has, which was showcased when all three of them played at the same time. Randy Beavers has a new Zum steel that really sounded great, even when he played it through a guitar amp, I believe a Peavey stereo chorus 212. I'd like to thank Chubby Howard again for organizing this event.
[This message was edited by Bob Watson on 06 October 2003 at 02:46 PM.]

Want to thank Chubby Howard for having an excellent line-up of steel players and a super back-up band. The Eagles have a nice arrangement, serving food right in the same room so you don't miss any of the great music. It was nice to see old friends again and meet new ones. My niece, Jaxie, and I had a good time and we are looking forward to next year's Jam.

I forgot to mention that Laney Hicks got up and rendered a few tunes and sounded wonderful. It's always a treat to hear her sing, she's as good as it gets.

I'd like to give Chubby a large 'belated' thanks for the invite to his show.....I heard some very good players ;incredible players considering most of them don't play for a living...of course in order to hear those guys I had to put up with the likes of Jerry B.,Randy B.,and Mike S.,but on the other hand it was very good to see my old buddies Gary Adams and Wayne Hobbs, and a lot of guys I see at other steel shows. I missed seeing Rusty Rhodes ; we must have gotten our signals crossed in the transportation department....I expected to see him there.....Once again, thanks Chubby
