In the movie Bedtime Stories there is a scene with a Hawaiian band in the background and a steel player with a Stringmaster. Gave me a thrill, pretty good movie too!!

That's long time HSGA member ... Duke Ching ...

He also wrote that song ... and received nice royalties for it ... Cool

Duke also appeared in another Adam Sandler movie ... 50 First Dates ... with Drew Barrymore ... Cool

Also it that 50 First Dates film ... was HSGA member and one of Jerry Byrd's very first students ... Nephi Pomaika'i Brown ... as the tattooed cook in that breakfast restaurant ...

Very cool ... Mr. Green

Shocked Very Happy
Bill,-how could you tell that was a Stringmaster in Bedtime Stories? The only thing I saw was a very brief & distant shot of the white front of a steel guitar. I could see no way of identifying the guitar. It could have been a Guyatone or almost any white steel.
But of course I know it was a Stringmaster because I knew that Duke was in the movie and I was watching for him and recognized his hair, his blue shirt and some of his features as I've known him for 20+ years.
A casual movie viewer probably would have missed the scene altogether.
Anyway, the movie was good entertainment and I'm glad we went to see it. When Duke told us he was in it,--we wouldn't have missed it. Hope he makes a million on the song royalties.

To me the front diamonds were the giveaway on identifying the Stringmaster, also the countless hours I spent on refinishing one this Fall probably helped.
