Buddy Emmons' Night Life Video on SteelGuitarJazz.com

Post by Jim Cohen »

Happy New Year to all! Here's a great video of E playing the classic 'Night Life' at an Atlanta steel show in 1980. Many thanks to Bill Ferguson for making the video available to www.SteelGuitarJazz.com (You'll find it in the Video Screening Room.) Come on over, and please sign the guest book and say 'hi' while you're there.

Best wishes to all for 2009!

Bump for a good one. Thanks Jim and brother Bill F. I was there that day.

I believe that's the thin version of Wayne F. Smith on bass. :)

Sometime in '62, Ray Price was part of a package with Bobby Bare and winding up with Johnny Cash in Fresno, Ca. Price introduced a new song called "Night Life" and Buddy's steel work tore me up for days. I couldn't get that performance out of my mind for the longest time. It's still as fresh and great as it was over 46 years ago.
