Jay, you heard the DBT's on the RADIO?? Wow. Do you live in some kind of alternate-universe bizarro-world where that kind of (good) stuff actually gets played? |

Love the Drive-by Truckers.
We have a great station here in Sonoma County called KRSH ("The Krush - Wine Country Radio") that plays a lot of alt country and Americana/Roots stuff, and they play the band's music.
In the greater Bay Area I'm sure the Truckers get played on good 'ol KPIG, but it doesn't come in very well here in northern Sonoma County.
Tucker - there are few cities hipper than Portland - one of my favorite places in the world. You don't have a station that plays that type of music?
I saw recently while checking out the schedule for the New Orleans Jazz Fest in late April that the Truckers will have the legendary (and Marin County resident) Booker T. Jones sitting in with them. _________________ Mark |

Every now and then there's some good stuff on OPB (91.5 in portland or online at opbmusic.org). There's also a show called Mississippi West on KMHD, Saturdays between 3-6 I believe. |

Well, there's a great independently owned station about an hour north of here. They're not part of the usual media conglomerates like "clear channel" that give you a mandated playlist. This station always plays alot of "Indie" label stuff and lesser known bands/artists. A ton of great stuff is out there!
It's a shame the way most radio is controlled nowadays. Sign of the times I guess |
