A few years ago I listened to a video of Larry Sasser, It was an upbeat number, which was taped on TNN. Part of it was also fiddle. I don't remember the name of the tune. I checked you tube but it was not there. The tune was a fast one and very nice steel playing by Larry. Does anyone know the tune and where it may be available on Tab....Bob |

Not sure exactly what tune it was, Bob, but you may want to check out Larry's "Sassy Country" CD which is available through the Forum. This is a great CD by one of my favorite steel players. Larry has tabbed out 8 songs on it in two separate tab books. You may find the tune you want on the CD. |

Bob, there's 2 songs on "Sassy Country" that it might be. The first song is an up tempo called Sassy Frassin'. I think Wimpy wrote it and the last song on the other side is called "Easy Going" which is also an up tempo song! Good luck! Ray _________________ Ray Qualls

On Nashville Now, Wimpy did a killer solo with Buck Owens on "Under Your Spell Again" . Would be nice if someone could find it and post it. Jody. |

Thanks guy's for your replies. I should have stated that this was not a song but rather an instrumental. Jeff thanks for the lead for Sasser's CD. I plan to get one, and it's very possible that tune will be on there. I really like Sasser's style and attack. It's pure country....Bob |

You won't go wrong with that CD, Bob - it's still one of my all time favorites. I credit Larry with getting me started on steel - I used to watch Nashville Now every nite just to hear him play and that's when I decided he looked like he was having so much fun playing, I'd have to try it. If you get the CD and decide you want the tab, send me an e-mail and I can give you some contact info. |

Bob, as I stated above, its probably one of the two songs I named. Songs off of that cassette are:
1.Sassy Frassin'
2.Always on my mind
3.Take me as I am
4.Are you sure
5.Dogwood trail
6.Real Country
7.Nashwood
8.Mercy, mercy
9.Healing hands of time
10.Gardenia waltz
11.Cold, cold heart
12.Easy going
David Smith-Bass, Clay Caire-Drums, Hoot Hester-Fiddle, Fred Newell-Lead guitar, John Clausi-Rhythm guitar and Bunky Keels-Piano
Can't give anymore info than that. Hope it helps. Ray _________________ Ray Qualls

Larry has retired and lives a few miles from me. We have been friends since the early 70's.
Larry still plays a few steel shows and fills in for me when I have to be away from my gig. My band loves him (just not too much I hope)
