I believe everything I read, including that, and www.pignoseamps.com where it says "The first Pignose amp debuted at the 1973 Summer NAMM show."Dan Tyack wrote:... Paul Franklin mentioned that it was Pete Drake who did the hook on Harrison's My Sweet Lord on electic dobro through a Pignose.

Clearly, Rand and Aristotle were wrong to insist that a thing cannot be both true and false at the same time. Rather it is the test of a first-rate steel guitarist, not to mention of religious piety and of enduring marriage, to be able to hold in the mind two contradictory ideas at the same time.Dan Tyack wrote:But it was on the internet, it's got to be true!
That's what my cousin (who build quantum computers at MIT) tells me.Earnest Bovine wrote: Clearly, Rand and Aristotle were wrong to insist that a thing cannot be both true and false at the same time.

Buddy played on quite a few cuts... "Wichita Lineman", "All I Ever Need Is You", "See You Then", "What Am I Living For", "The Three Bells"... a GREAT album that is somehow still unavailable on CDMichael Johnstone wrote:Buddy played on one other song on that album but I can't name it at the moment cause I don't have it in front of me.Please add Buddy Emmons contribution to "Feel So Bad," from Ray Charles' "Volcanic Action of my Soul" album, early 70's.

Red Rhodes played steel on James Taylor's Sweet Baby James and One Man dog albums. Dan Dugmore played on the later stuff. Also Rusty Young on Buffalo Springfield's Kind Woman and an old James Gang album featuring Joe Walsh. Again I can't remember which one!
Not sure any of these ever charted as "hits" but Doug Sahm used Pete Drake for some stuff on a Greatist Hits compilation, and has a record called Doug Sahm and Friends with Charlie Owens playing steel that features Bob Dylan and Fathead Newman:D

I'd like to know too.
Back to Doug Sahm, here's a video of an old Sir Douglas Quintet hit, Nuevo Laredo.
It's a lip sync video but I hear steel and I believe it may have been Doug himself. He was a "child prodigy steeler" according to some liner notes I read.
