With some MCI parts I have put together a 10 string non pedal steel guitar. It is basically a cherry plank with an e66 pickup. However I am amazed how many tunes are right there in that tuning. True you have to move the bar a few frets but that great e9th sound is right there. _________________ LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN GEORGIA |

If you are feeling frisky try dropping the low B string and adding a C# in the 5th slot. It makes getting pedal sounds with slants easy and opens up a plethora of chord voicings and scale positions. _________________ Bob |

Yep there's not exactly a surfeit of such expressive terminologies. |

Thank you Bob. I can see that that would give an "A" pedal effect. What gauge would you suggest for the c# string? _________________ LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN GEORGIA |
