Cougar SD-10, 3 & 4 for sale. Bought it, put new strings on it and been in the case since then. It has a nice warm sound, the pedal and knee actions are smooth. The case is in great shape, I think it’s either a Thomas or Justice, not sure. The guitar is standard height and has the Emmons set-up. I know it’s not the top of the line and certainly not the bottom. It plays very well. The price is $1,000.00 and includes shipping to lower 48. Thanks for looking, Gale

These guitars were made by the late, great Freeman Cowger.

I used to own a Couger guitar and had the pleasure of talking to Freeman many times on the phone.

Freeman told me that he always loved the tone of the Sho-Bud guitars. He used to work for Sho-Bud and tried to emulate their sound in his guitars.

I don't know if this still has his single coil pickup in it but, Freeman said he wound his to sound just like the old Sho-Buds. Mine sounded great.

I think this is a great price for a good guitar. :)

And Dan, I still have yours (well, now mine). Taking it out to play on Saturday. Thanks again! And +1 for the quality/tone of these guitars, and for what a great guy Freeman was. Very open and giving guy, and a great representative/ambassador for the steel guitar world, IMO.

Hi Bill, Great to hear you're still pickin' away on that thing.

I loved that guitar.

What a great tone. Lightweight and so much fun to play. Ah, the good 'ol days! :)
