For Roy and others: I have a copy of Bill's latest cd; as I told him: It is definitely "without wrinkles," (pardon the pun). My favorite is still Unforgetable; I love his soft touch.

This, coming from two outstanding big time big band musicians is overwhelming to me. Thands so much Dr. Hugh and Al Vescovo.
Dr. Hugh, thanks for the Jerry Byrd Instruction Tech Manual you sent me recently. Wish I could have had that sooner in my lifetime and maybe I could have found that fourth chord. This book is a huge production and weighs about fifteen pounds I suppose. It will have a special stand in my music room. All to itself, as nothing I have ever seen compares to the information therein concerning our steel guitar music, theory , instructions etc.
Al, one of these days I would love to do a session with you-just you and myself. Love your steel playing so much.(Alvino would have to study under you for a few years as he did with Segovia years ago). I want to do a session with you playing that exquisite rhythmn guitar you play with the Billy Vaughn Orchestra. None better here folks, unless its my friend Gene Breeden who you hear on my aforementioned cd.
Thanks again. Merry Christmas to all.

Great Bill ! I'm glad you received the manual OK. My brother really enjoyed playing from the Byrd Manual for many years before he passed away. (He thought my playing SUCKED! He was really for Hawaiian and Western Swing Musics). I'd like to hear you and the Italian Stallion (my dear friend Albert) get together. There's nothing he can't do with a steel).

See. I told you guys how good Bill's new CD is. All of the great steelers who posted above agree with me.

Unforgettable

When I Dream

For any of you who may think Bill is limited to the slow, sweet “Mr. Smooth” type of pedal steel he is known for, the next clip may surprise you at the way Bill executes up-tempo songs.

WOW! It touches me deeply Bobby that you are much better and on the road to a complete recovery. And those words from YOU about my efforts is the best Christmas present I could ever receive from anyone for the rest of my life.
Wally, you are so special in my music world with our complete love of the gorgeous Hawaiian music we both love and share. I will always cherish the opportunity I had to be on your Hawaiian program there in Joliet, Il. Sitting on that stage with Jerry Byrd in the very front row still makes me nervous to this day-just thinking about that time. But I had "Keoke" Lake and Cookie Issacs there to settle me down-until Mr. Lake asked me to play "Little Rock Get-W-Way" for the Hawaiian audience. Remember that?
Thanks so much Bobby and Wally for the good times and memories.
