Hey Guys, I was wondering if any of you remember Vern Sandusky? I am working a NewYears job with him. I heard he used to play on Hee Haw , and also played for Roy Clark for many years. Confused

Yeah, he played guitar with Roy forever. Even looked like him just a bit. Great guy and player. Tell him I said hi.

Most of the guys around here call him by the full name....Vernon. He is also part of the "cowboy" band with David Ingles along with Rodney Lay , Shelby Eichert , and Steve Short. David is an awesome writer , singer , etc. He has IMO the best radio speaking voice of anyone. David is the founder of the Oasis Network , heard around the nation and a great resource.

Vernon's best known and less well know at the same time is his work with Wanda Jackson and Big Al Downing; That's Vern and Big Al's band on Wanda's "Lets Have A Party", "Mean Mean Man" and many others, and on Big Al's classic "Down On The Farm". Vern's guitar playin' was mother's milk for me when I was a teenage beginner rockabilly guitar player some 25 yrs ago!! Great to her his name mentioned here!!

They just don't write them anymore like they used too! I remember Big Al from the 50's. Vernon is a great guitar player. Ray

Hi Dan, I've been playing several weekends at the VFW in Joplin. Taking some time off this winter to woodshed, now that I fully retired. Where you playing New Years, at one of the casinos? Ray
