It is so sad to hear of Charles' passing. He was always so kind to me and helped me numerous times with my push pull. He was the best and will truly be missed.

My condolences to his entire family.

I am so sad to hear this, Although I didn't know Charles like many did, he was so gentle and kind to me the few times I have been in Saluda . Charles always greeted me like I was a special person which at the end of the day made him the very special person.

Charles, his family and friends are in our prayers.

He was a great steel player and a good man....like Steve said, his suffering is over and his real life is just beginning.

Alas My Brother

Post by Danny Hammers »

My Brethren, the roll of the workmen
has been called, and one Master Mason
has not answered to his name.
He has laid down the working tools
of the Craft and with them
he has left that mortal part for
which he no longer has use.
His labors here below have taught
him to divest his heart and conscience
of the vices and superfluities of life,
thereby fitting his mind as a living stone
for that spiritual building -- that house
not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.
Strengthened in his labors here
by faith in God,
and confident of expectation of immortality,
he has sought admission to
the Celestial Lodge above. Amen

One Noble Man

Post by Charley Hill »

Charles Reece was a noble man with a kind heart in it's truest sense. I only visited him once to have a guitar worked on and before I left I felt as though I was part of the family. Eating tomatoe sandwiches was a real treat that day with the Reeces.
Charles will be missed very much!

The first I went to Saluda and met Charles I mentioned I needed a dust catcher fret board, the next day he walked up and handed me one and would not take a cent for it, This is the kind of man he was, He will be missed by all who knew him. A great man and a great steel BROTHER.
