MAN!
You GOT TO GET THIS!
I have loved Brad's Band, his playing, and his Steel Player since I heard my first BP.
I am a little emotionally thin because of hormone blockers I guess, but I don't see how a person could make it through this one with out a couple tears of joy for the musicianship, the respect for "older styles", and "older musicians", with the ability to "get out of the way" that Mr Paisley has put out. Mr Randle Currie is ONE LUCKY PLAYER (unless Brad leaves beer glasses on his Sho~ Bud or some other thing we are not aware of.. or pays him with bad checks like I always seeem to get from band leaders...)
This one is EVERYTHING that I have been telling everybody about inre to Brad Paisley.
Especially "Let The Good Times Roll" with none other than B.B.
Lazy Bom Tom Rules!
Off to a gig.
Get this album!

Randle is a monster, knew him back in 96 when he was playing in a club band, just moved from Canada.
He went to Nashville, and deservingly so, i had to take his place in a band, and those were some terrible shoes to fill, luckily i doubled on Telecaster, that kept me the job! _________________ A.K.A Chappy. |

I love the new BP album....and you will hardly ever get me to say that about ANY guitar instrumental album.
The duet with Buck along with the surf tune are the two standouts to me.
I really like Currie's playing (except on the jazz tune....fwiw). The only thing is that I found the tone of the steel to be harsh and shrill throughout the record. Somewhat unpleasant to listen to, which is really a shame. Is this his preference, the producer's preference, BP's preference? With the gamut of killer guitar tones throughout the album, it is surprising that the pedal steel tone would come across so thin and abrasive.... |

my favorite tune is Departure, I just happen to think that Brads solo following the Steel is amazing.. |

As a Guitarist and a steelist, I think it's awesome. They will be in Pensacola January 18th. If I have to hitch hike or walk, I'll be there.
