I say that because I occasionally find a goldmine of old C&W records with lots of good steel playing on them.

I work a few blocks from a Goodwill store and over the years I've bought over 2,000 LPs there, and countless CDs, videos, etc.

I've also picked up two Teac 4-channel reel-to-reel tape recorders.

I'm still waiting for the day I come across a Rickenbacher D8 from the 40s for $20. Very Happy

I love thrift stores, flea markets, and all manner of old junk sales. I bought this 40's western suit for $4.00 at a Goodwill maybe 10-15 years ago:

Of course, thousands of LPs, all kinds of cool duds, and even the occasional old guitar here and there.

Dave, that is one cool suit! A good find. I used to play in a Rockabilly band, and I used to find some cool stage clothes in thrift stores.

Dave, that is so sharp; would make Leon Redbone or Zappa jealous.

Full length English wool overcoat from Disabled American Veterans thrift: $20. It was black and perfect.

As Lee mentioned, and there are a lot of suppliers on the internet. Radio Shack will also get you a new stylus to special order.
Yes, my wife is a Cornhusker. I met her on a train from Oakland to Chicago in 1976.

Wingtips! Dead man's shoes! Hammond and Lowrey organs, and HiFis. Both sources of great Jensen speakers and Amperex tubes!

Yeah, that's just a 60s guitar (refinished parts mongrel, but as good as it gets, to my tastes). Smile

I have a nice old 30's L-12 that really needs to get photoed with that suit. One o' these days.

Glen, yes that's a GREAT album,Gary Burton was about 18 years old at the time [vibes]It's a shame most people just remember Hank as a country studio artist, when he was such a great jazz picker.DYKBC.

There is a thrift store next to my shop- the gals frequently end up over there while the guys come in- (or the other way around) and browse- one of the other is just killin' time- either way- it's a good deal.

I even buy albums of singers I'm not much into just to hear some good steel playing.
