Jagwire strings

Hi folks,

I'm thinking of trying the Jagwire PF string set. I love his tone (who doesn't?), and I know it's all about touch, etc., but I'm thinking the heavier gauges will certainly make a difference too.

Anyone have any experience with them?

I have been useing them for over 5 years..#1 as far as I'm concerned!

Paul puts together a nice set of gauges and Nickel too....yes they are great.
I too go for a heavier gauge and if you want the .022 wound 6th...Here ya go.

Thanks guys!

I guess it goes without saying that as I change string gauges I will need to make some adjustments to my guitar, just like I have to adjust the action and re-intonate my Tele when I go to a heavier or lighter string.

I will do my research on this maintenence subject - I imagine this is something I need to learn how to do...all part of maintaining the guitar.

Thanks for putting up with the new kid on the block. I'll give the Jag's a try.

I use and like them too. Lloyd Green's on my Bud. A push-pull combo on my Emmons.

I use sit strings.
They are just as good as any of them.
go to www.juststrings.com and save some money.

I played SIT Strings for quite a few years. The routine was put on a new set of SIT's, practice a week to include a nite of band practice. Then I would play a weekend gig, sometimes two nights. Then I would practice a second week. Before the next gig I would change the 3rd and the 5th. I learned the hard way when to change. Then I would change the whole set. I am not one for change just to be changing, but I tried Jagwire strings because of all the good things I was hearing about them. I don't play out anymore but I try to play a little every day. In the 3 years I have been playing Jagwire strings I have not broken a string. This set has been on over a year, fixing to change them. In my humble oppinion, Jagwires are the best I have used. I put a set on in June and play every day an hour or so and weekends In a Band and no broken strings and not dead. Would never change their the best!!!!! Bob

Jagwire are the vey best strings in the world as far as I'm concerned!!!
My G# 3rd string broke this last weekend after being on there since the second week of LAST last September.....2007!!!!!!!
As you may know, they usually last at the most for a month.
I brag about them all the time and wonder at how/why they're sooooo good.

I bought a new pedalmaster from Mr Roy Thomas on the first day of october 07. the origional strings are still on it. I called him back and ask what kind of strings he had put on the guitar. he said he had used SIT strings for all his instruments. I am afraid to guess how many hours of play time I now have on them. I dont know if its the strings or just having them on an extra well built guitar. I have owned about every brand except a Zum. none of them ever came close to this. I was always afraid of the high G# after about three gigs. I plan to use these strings until one breaks. none of them are dead. thanks Mr Thomas for a well built steel.

Great strings and TOP CLASS service from b0b!

I have a very serious question; how can anyone play the same set of strings for more than a month? IF you find yourself making adjustments to your raise and lowers as the strings age, that indicates the "original" integrity of the string has expired. As PF states on his website, change them frequently, like you would any guitar. These strings go through a much more rigorous work out than a six stringer. My $0.02 worth, but you might find playing and tone to improve. Also, you probably won't be making as many adjustments to the nylon tuners.

Hi guys I have been useing George Ls since I started 18 yrs ago. I have an old Professional that I used them on. I ordered a new Mullen RP a year or so ago and it came with Jagwire strings . What a difference it was. I tried a new set of George Ls on my Mullen and it sounded dull and didnt have that crisp bite. I am a beleiver NOW. Jagwires ONLY!!!!

I use Jag Wire Strings Herby Wallace insignia and I love these Strings. I practice at least 2 to 3 hours a day and have not broken a single string.The ones that are on my Emmons LaGrande III have been on this steel for about one year and they still have a great ring to them.You will never have to worry about one breaking while you are playing a GIG.I hooked a few guys on them and they can not beleave what a diffrence in these strings.

Best strings on the planet in my opinion...I use a 12 on my G# string on my LeGrande 111, a little fuller sounding & very seldom break...

I have used every brand for steel gutar and when I tried Jagwire the trying was over! I have 2 Emmons gutars and they both are strung up with Jagwire! I have about 10 students here in Tyler,Tx and every one uses Jagwire on their guitars. I have my own Series-Walter Haynes, E-9th and C-6th,they work great for me. Best of luck to all of you-

My vote is for George L's stainless steel, which I've used for 20+ years (uh, not the same set, mind you!). I kept trying and wanting to like Jagwires (nickel and steel), but compared to George L's, they sound like they're already a couple of weeks old, just don't have the "new" brightness I favor.

My top three E9 strings are .013, .016. ,012; getting better tone now, but that breaking 3rd is scary!! String 6 is a .022P.
