SE Texas Steel Guitar Meeting for June

Post by Jody Sanders »

We had a unusually small crowd, but a good show. The "Jam" consisted of Ray Beale on an MSA S-12, and Jody Sanders on a D-10 Pedalmaster. Band : Billy Phelps on guitar, Patty Phelps on Bass, and Igor on drums. Thanks to Michael Garnet for his vocals. Billy and Patty Phelps were recognized for their work in supporting the club. Lots of good equipment for the swap meet. You folks who were not there sure missed some bargains. Thanks to everyone who supports the club. Jody, Billy, Patty, and Bob.
[This message was edited by Jody Sanders on 24 June 2003 at 09:05 PM.]

Had a great time! First time to play the E9/B6 in public. I had set the guitar up E9/B6 to sell it. I usually play B6/E9. I had put a for sale sticker on the top edge of the steel. Well, I was right in the middle of a ride when I missed the outside string, slammed the RKR to raise 4&8 (wrong!! it lowered 4&8) hit the wrong pedals for A&B. Totally frustrated, I quit playing, reached over, took the for sale sticker and placed it square on the front of the steel, and layed out the rest of the song. It got a big laugh from the audience, and took the tension out of the moment.

By the way Billy that new Eminence speaker sure brought the Bandit 112 to life for steel.
