A friend sent me this link ('Great photos! http://www.eset.com') No photos, but a link to anti-virus software, and following the button to 'free trial' yielded this link to un-installers for anti-v. software, for those of you who like me have had trouble getting rid of the things.

As has been mentioned by me in the past, you should only use one anti virus program, with realtime monitoring, on a computer. That means uninstalling previous anti virus applications before installing a new brand is required. Having more than one such program leads to conflicts and slowdowns as two programs scan the same files as you open, create, save, or download them. It can also lead to BSODs if multiple scanners try to access the same addresses in memory.

It is very important to reboot to complete the deinstallation process and cleanup files that were in use during the procedure.

Interesting. I have had McAfee for several years. I ran a scan and it didn't find anything. Some other scan programs that come up once in a while to try to sell you their programs said I had some infections. Thinking it's one of those that just throw a few red letters at you to convince you to buy, I down loaded spybot again.

It found lots of red letter spyware, about 15 of them. So got rid of them. Spybot is good.
