Who is Jewel's steel player, and what manufacturer's guitar does he play?

I believe Dave Ristrim is still playing for her. He has several guitars so he might change around. I saw them on TV (Leno or something like that) and I don't remember what he was playing. I think they avoid showing the logo.

Dave, if you see this, it's nice to see you doing so well. We miss you out here.

Hi Jim and Richard,
I just finished up this year with Jewel. She'll do a few solo acoustic shows and then probably take some time off. Hopefully she'll add some full band show again next year. She is a simply amazing performer IMHO.
The steel I use on the road is a Carter S12. I put a Guster (the band) sticker over the Carter logo. I put a Bill Lawrence 912 pickup in it, although the Truetone that was in it sounded awesome as well. I pretty much play direct through a Line6 PodPro XT using some of my own custom settings. The work I did on Yahoo.com, which is airing on Comcast HD, was done through the Pro's little brother the PodXT. I also used that on the A&E show we did. When I'm using ear monitors, I like going direct so I don't get extra stuff in my mix I don't want to hear. Plus I've been using Line6 stuff for 8 years now, and it make my job easier and sounds great. I love to play through amps too, but 95% of what I do is direct.
Richard, I miss CA and all the musicians I've worked with and met, but love it out here in TN. I hope you are doing well.
Dave

Why cover the Carter logo? Just curious.

I like Jewel, always have. She did some duets with Merle a while ago that were just killer.

Good question, and I could think of at least 3 reasons to do so.
