I just got one to play on the Reba , Kelly Clarkson Tour. We put a couple of Lollar Imperial humbuckers in and it sounds wonderful. I also had Tim Scheerhorn install a "Belly Bar' so I can play standing up. The Guitar looks and sounds great . I got a white one but they also come in sunburst.

The Asher guitars I've seen are really nice! Longer scale and great tone.
Is this a non-pedal gig or are you just using it for color?
Any pixs? |

I use it for the slide stuff that i do with Reba and Kelly. The more i play it the more i love it. The long scale rocks. |

Bruce, what is it you didn't like about the stock pickups that you changed them out for Lollars?
And was the difference in sound pretty dramatic with the Lollar?
And any chance of posting a photo of the guitar with Tim's belly bar?
I'm likely going the budget route on my next lap steel (that I would also like for stand up playing), but I also want to check out the Asher Jr. if the new Peavey Power Slide in which I am interested doesn't seem like the way to go.
A friend of mine a couple hours south of here got a new Asher Jr., I want to take that thing for a test ride when I get the chance. _________________ Mark |

And that friend would be me. I love it. This is my first lap steel and have played few so comparing it to others would be tough. I think it sounds pretty sweet - even run through my daughter's little Fender practice amp.
Mark - you're welcome to play it any time. Let me know when you're going to be in my neck of the woods. It looks as if the SF Dobro Club is awakening from it's deep slumber so maybe if we can make it to the same get -together, you can give it a try then. _________________ Guitars are like guns.
