Hi Folks, my Fiancee and I are coming to Nashville at the end of October for 3 wks.
We're looking for a cheap and cheerful place to stay that is close to all ammenities including a laundromat.

I have a medical condition that prohibits me from driving right now so we will have to take taxi cabs everywhere we want to go, so I'm looking to be as central as possible with walking distance to some.

We like to eat out in places like golden coral, waffle house, ruby tuesday's etc. and Jan wants to be close to a shopping mall or walmart.

Look at the Candlewood Suites in Brentwood. My parents have had good luck with it when they come to see me. It's about 10 miles out of town and there's not much you can walk to, but the rates are good, and it's a nice place in a nice area. I think it runs around $80 a night.

Leigh give Smiley a call...I sent you his Ph#...This time of the year most downtown motels Like the old Anchor are set up for Vandy Football...But out towards Madison,Hendersonville (not walking distance)has everything you mentioned..Maybe around Two mile Pike which has a humoungous Shopping Mall about 10 miles from Downtown Nashburg...I don't believe Downtown lodging will be too your liking..Smiley will I'm sure be glad to see you...Heck I may even drive up I'd certainly be glad to see you again...

Hi Leigh

When me an my wife go to Nashville we stay at the Comfort Inn 1501 Demonbreun st Ph 1 651 255 9977 down town Nashville just off Broadway. It is within walking distance to Station Inn an Mcdonalds, an just a few blocks from the old opry house, an lots of live music places on the old strip. $100 a night, but a nice an quite place to stay. This is a good place to stay for a few days if you are planning to go downtown. Hope this helps

Jerry

Jerry may have the best idea! Smile Staying downtown is where the music is...
You can take a bus to OpryMills and Rivergate or anyother Mall in Nashville.

I guess you have to weigh taxi fare from place to place.
My point if you're staying downtown, you can get a bus to Malls.

On Our visit this Year(March)right after the Dallas jamboree, We stayed at the Fiddlers Inn on Music Valley Row.No problems with the room, nice walk thru the Gaylord Hotel to Opry Mills and The Grand Ole Opry.30 minute bus ride to Broadway and the service is hourly and very punctual.A cab to Downtown is $25.
Cracker Barrel 2 min walk,Rudy's Cafe 2min walk this is a MUST.Nashville Palace and Midnight jamboree at the Tubb theatre 2 min walk.
I recommended this to our lead singer and He went there last month and loved it.
I would stay there again.
Best regards
Billy
