"Book Price" for one in excellent original condition runs from about $800-$1000. But generally, they bring a little less...$650-$900. |

I'm assuming based on the case that it's a long-scale, with chrome pedals and flat, wide pickup.
If so, it's pre-1964 (the serial number is irrelevant) - pictures would help determine both the general year and the value. "Very good shape for the age" could mean anything. Donny's statement on value is dead-on; they rarely reach vintage Guitar Price Guide levels. But since you are interested in selling it, you might shoot me an email with pictures- I service them and make a few parts, and have a few guys looking for one right now. I could give you a good idea as to the actual value and possibly hook you up with a buyer. Also, be aware of forum policies - any sales solicited through the forum require a percentage fee...it covers the operating costs.
BTW - and please don't take this as offensive - but typing in all-caps is considered shouting on the internet.
I'll look forward to your email. _________________ No chops, but great tone

A steel without knee levers (as are all stock 400s, 1000s, 800s & 2000s) is like a rowboat without an oar! You can fool with it & have a lot of fun, but you'll never get anywhere! (learn all there is to know about playing a pedal steel on one of them!) IMHO! You can't re-invent the wheel! Some of my best steel buddies still don't know what to do on the C6th neck with all the pedals & knees. They would sound the same on an 8 string lap steel!?? Too bad they were born after "Slowly". The present generation (there are exceptions) mainly has learned how to mash A & B on the money neck. Lots of great chord structures in that "other" neck you guys are leaning on! Unless your name is Randy Beavers (a very fine example of an exception!) and then you don't even need that other neck! or was I seeing things? I thought he was playing chords on E9th that I get on C6th?? Was he?? |
