I went to see Toby Keith and Montgomery Gentry the week before last. I would not have gone at all if it weren't for free tickets. Well I don't really care for Montgomery Gentry but they actually did a good job. They sang in tune and the presentation was good. So I have gained a newfound respect for them. After their show Toby Keith bored me with a 10 minute Ford commercial. I could not believe it. It was the stupidest thing I have ever watched in my life. After that Toby sang out of tune and was absolutely awful. What a hack. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Ford sales were off 34% last month alone. I would look forward to seeing them unceremoniously dump TK in the very near future.

Wonder how many MG fans know what a SCUM BAG Mr. Gentry really is,Any SO-CALLED man [or woman] that will participate in a canned hunt is as cowardly as it gets,he will never spend one day behind bars for this dispiteous act, even if he had to pay the twenty grand fine, that's just pocket change to him,tOO few PEOPLE REALLY know about canned hunts,A LOT of zoos dispose of animals, big cats, ect, after they get too old to take care of,by selling them to creeps that sponser canned hunts,Saw a vidio of an old mountain goat in a cage with a real BRAVE bowhunter,he shoot five arrows into this helpless creature before he killed it,this is just ONE example of what goes on,The next time you buy a MG,CD,vidio,or go to their concerts, just stop and think a second what a degenerate you are supporting.DYKBC.

BTW, just for the hell of it........I believe that any true hunter understands this issue. But I expect that there are a few people out there who are working up a rage and are just dying to feel victimized by what they perceive to be an anti-hunting, anti-gun drift here. Like I said---a true hunter/sportsman will understand the revulsion and contempt being displayed here for the notion of canned hunting. Degenerate is a good, appropriate word.
I will also say that I have fished many streams that were stocked. Some hold carry-over populations and some cannot even sustain that. Although this is a very different situation from the shooting pigs in a cage, it does give me trouble. I've never quite figured out how I feel about it but there's no question---I'd rather catch fish on their turf than place them into my turf (stocked stream) for the taking---even with the added challenge of dry fly fishing. So I don't feel 100% clean about this issue.

The Wikipedia article from the Bob Hoffnar post also states:

"Another less well-known incident occurred two years prior to the Dick Cheney hunting incident when the vice president participated in a canned hunt at the Rolling Rock Club in Ligonier Township, Pennsylvania. Cheney and nine companions killed 417 out of 500 ringneck pheasants, of which the Vice President himself is credited with killing 70, and an unknown number of mallard ducks."

Jon,I was NOT talking about legal hunters,if you are thinking that[you are dead wrong]I'm talking about anyone that exploits any animal in a cruel and inhumane fashion and calling it sporting,It's a shame more people don't know what goes on,Few people knows what indescribable horrors that go on in the fur trade[mostly in China]By the way I don't belong to PETA,don't believe in some of their crazy tactics trying to get a serious message across,I crusade for animal rights, they can't speak for themselves,Most people love their cats and dogs like family, but would be appalled at what these same animals are going through at this moment. If ANY one would like to be enlightened to some TRUE FACTS,Feel free to e-mail me.And by the way Arch,I am a right wing nut,AND DAMN PROUD OF IT,rather be RIGHT than wrong anydayDYKBC..

Charles---nope. I was just trying to preempt knee-jerk responses from people who don't like to actually read these posts to see what they say but who feel the need to think they are being victimized. I fully expected that a few idiots would start posting pictures of their guns and defending their rights. This has nothing to do with that.

There should be a special place in hell for people who do cruelty to animals. This is not hunting for food. The American Indians prayed to the animals for giving them something to eat. They never understood(nor do I) the wanton killing of animals by white people for "sport". I understand the taking of an animal for food and survival. Bravo to the people here who noted these "canned hunts". I think that this is beyond your political leaning and more to do with morals.

Actually, fair enough. Let me get clarification on the original post. Do you mean that this guy actually shilled for Ford at his performance? Like telling his ticket buying audience 'buy this wonderful Canyonero'. Man, that is tacky. Or were you kidding, Ron?

I APOLOGIZE IF i GOT OFF TOPIC,But it did have to do with that creep Mr. Gentry,I already knew what he did when it happened,Having a passion for animal rights, could'nt let an opportunity go by without exposing what kind of man [use that term loosely]he is for anyone that did'nt know,If I ruffled any feathers I'm sorry, should have made another thread about it.DYKBC.

Your all right, Charles. Anything that highlights animal cruelty is worth a topic hi-jack.
As Oscar Wilde wrote about fox-hunting:
"The unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable."

He was trying to do a "country" thing by attempting to fool us into thinking hes a hunter. Just like the fake accents and everything else these phonies try to pass of as country.

NOT just a hunter, Steve. Also the "best paid musician in country music," according to one frequent poster.
