Better content than contempt ;-)

I feel exactly the same way. But then I guess we got out of it just what we put into it, didn't we? ;-)

With time, you HAVE to get a better tent. Holes develop where tent should be causeing drips and such. Now you have NOTHING where there should be something to do the job the tent is designed to do. So where there used to be tent is NOTHING. NOTHING, needing corrected, is corrected best by buying a new tent. Leaving your wallet with NOTHING to go camping with. Why get a better tent?

table of contents, usually headed simply "Contents," is a list of the parts of a book or document (including Acts of Parliaments) organized in the order in which the parts appear. The contents usually includes the titles or descriptions of the first-level headers, such as chapter titles in longer works, and often includes second-level or section titles (A-heads) within the chapters as well, and occasionally even third-level titles (subsections or B-heads). The depth of detail in tables of contents depends on the length of the work, with longer works having less. Formal reports (ten or more pages and being too long to put into a memo or letter) also have tables of contents. Documents of fewer than ten pages do not require tables of contents, but often have a short list of contents at the beginning.
What happens when there is nothing in the table of contents? All this was for NOTHING!

A hole in a tent is an interesting concept. Holes don't exist, they just show where something used to exist. What is a hole made of ? If you removed a hole from a tent you wouldn't actually be removing anything, you would be adding back material that wasn't there beforehand.

When we remove holes where do we store the removed holes ? :?

Well Alan sometimes the HOLE exists,
but what might have been there never did.

You can make a hole in whole cloth,
and it then was something that did exist,
but went away.

But bend a wire around and weld it together,
you have a hole, but what was in the middle never existed.
Nothing was ever there.

Is the Table of Contents listed in the Table of Contents?

Suppose you have a list of all lists which do not list themselves. Is that list in the list? If it is, then it lists itself and so shouldn't be. But if it isn't, then it doesn't list itself, so it should be.

You can buy doughnut holes. I've eaten plenty. There are other holes you can buy, but they cost a lot more.

And don't forget black holes. They exist. They are the most massive macrobodies known - not exactly nothing. But they will eventually evaporate into nothing. And then there are worm holes, which are theoretical, and may or may not exist. So they could be nothing.

I've got to stop tuning in to this thread late at night.

You're unloading your groceries, and place the contents of the grocery bag on your table. Is that a table of contents?

No, it's still a table.

Are you sure? What about all the matter that collapsed? And conservation of energy?

Only 23 years until I'm half way there.
Actually, Lao Tzu had alot to say about nothing.

Actually, he was just pointing out that there is nothing we can say. Which is a kind of unusal thing for someone to say so much about. But I think he would have loved this thread better than anything.
