I've wondered why Sho-Bud would designate a model as 1, as in Pro-1 before there is a Pro-2? Like naming your kid Sr. before there is a Jr.

I'm probably wrong about this... but wasn't the Professional first, then came the next designation, the Pro I, etc...?

They came out at the same time.
The ProI had one neck and the ProII had two.
Made perfect sense for a year or two, until they came out with a model that had aluminum necks and called it a ProIII.

Maybe it has something to do with the serial numbers. Laughing

Skip is right. Pro1 is a single neck, and Pro2 is a double neck, then in the same catalog, was the LDG, and maverick. And I don't remember if the Pro3 was in that same catalog or not. Thinking back many years.

I am pretty sure they made a "Professional" double neck. The Pro 1 was a single 10 and the pro 2 was a double 10, and I think the Pro 111 was a double with aluminum necks. Course my memory aint what it used to be either. Martin.

My first Shobud, bought in 1972, from Ralph Henzil, at West Allis Music, outside Milwaukee was a D-10. Labeled just "Pro."

I beleive ' The Proffessional' was first, early 70's, cant swear by it either, but i thought i saw Barbara Mandrell playing a Proffesional before the pro series came by Confused
