howdy, i started on a remmington, s10, traded that for a sho-bud, s10,have now got six, sho-buds, only one double, thats a [THE PROFESSIONAL] all original, cant kick the habit, ide hate to let one go and have it messed with, theve just got somthin, for me, lew.

I have played Shobuds for nearly 44 years. I have tried many other brands including Fender, Emmons, Zum, Franklin, MSA, MCI, and many others. While these are all very good guitars, the Shobuds feel like they were built to fit me physically, and the Shobud sound has it's own personality which I love. I like the laquer finished guitars better than the mica ones for tone and beauty. I play a Super Pro, and also have an LDG and a Pro II Custom. Mine are tuned to chromatic D9th, using an E9th guaged set of strings. Like this, they have a bit lower tone, never break strings, and the pedal action is smooth and easy. The Super Pro and Pro II C6th necks are standard guaged and setup with a few extra knee levers. Changing copedants or adding knee levers or pedals on Shobuds can be quite a project due to their design, but the payoff is worth the effort. Hats off to the Shobud builders, the Jacksons. I wish they could come back and start building Shobuds again with today's modern technology. I would have another, or two. (regardless of what the wife says). Zeke

Had a used Fender400 for 3 months, sold it, and bought a new LDG, in the early 70's, that I still play today. You see it in the icon pic of me. Still looks beautiful, and plays like new.
