If I recall the info correctly from some previous discussions on guitar forums, those pots do not "zero out" - they get close, but some signal always gets through - Duesenberg pushes them primarily as tone pots or for a "swell" volume effect (where you don't need to go to zero volume, just low volume, in a band environment).

If my info is right, they may not be the right thing for your application. Have you checked with the manufacturer? Pots are not complicated, and if it's wired correctly and you can't get "silence" I think that's how it's designed.

Thanks Jim, I don't care if some signal gets through but I can't tell very little difference from O to On.
I know in order to use a 250K pot for Vol it has to have a capasitor or risitor wired across it. I just don't know how or what value.

Not true. All you have to do is hook it up right. Pickup or pedal input jack to the two outer terminals, and the output jack to the center terminal and one outer terminal (which gets grounded).

It's that simple.

Thanks donny, that took care of it. Now it shuts all the way off. I owe you one.

Donny beat me to it...I was assuming it was wired correctly and a limited-range pot, of which there are a few types.
