I'm looking for a tech in the Philadelphia area to work on an old Gibson amp with a field coil speaker. It's looks to be all original but not working, just a loud uncontrollable buzz when powered up.

Know of anyone?

I would consider shipping it out for repair also. I'm just thinking it might be easier to take it somewhere local.

If you can't find anyone local you may want to consider Skip Simmons in California. People ship amps to him all the time and he specializes in the old stuff. He's worked on various old Gibsons. His rates are reasonable.

Actually I only did the electronics. This is how the guy found the amp at a garage sale! I had the speaker re-coned and rebuilt the electronics. All transformers were fine.
