Anyone know what chips to use for a batteryless mod for a Peavey Addverb?

The batteries leaked and I'd like to make the change now. Seems like it ought to be possible.

THE NEC chip, third to the right appears to be the memory chip to change. However it is not in a socket and will not be a friendly change out! You would have to remove the chip and put in a socket for it, better than soldering in the new chip.

What is the part number on that chip?

I'll get the chip number when I get home this afternoon. It's hard to read even in good light and close up.

Do you know if it's ok to power up and use these Peavey "Fex" units with the batteries taken out? Seems like they should still work just without memory retention after power down. But then there is a break in the circuitry at the missing battery junctions so it could cause trouble I suppose. Just curious as to your thoughts about it. Chris

Power up with the reset procedure and it should work OK until powered off, it will then lose memory again.

The old chip and new chip have the exact same pinout! Should work well. Let me know.
