Vern : You master of the Steel Guitar; you are sounding better than ever.. Keep them coming, my friend.
And after listening to Mike Archer playing " When we all get to heaven" if the music is that good up there, I can't wait to arrive. John Hughey will keep me occupied along with Don Helms.
Great pickin', Mike.. I love it..Bernie

Drowsy Waters
John,
Thanks for the nice comments. My Guitar is a 1977 MSA Classic, all Maple with BL 710's. One of the best Guitars I have ever sit behind,(plays like my old Rickenbacker) just touch it and its there.
I am using the Guitar into a Brad Sarno Revelation pre-amp.then into a MPX -200 then to a Mpx-100 balance out-put into the mixing board(T-R-S).Stereo into ch-1 and ch-2 one panned hard right the other hard left. Do not use the out-put section of the pre-amp as the Lexicons are cleaner. The tracks are my Yamaha keyboard or BIB into the Yamaha.
Charles Thanks for this wonderful site, some wonderful players to hear each time I log on.

My new song for October-"Memories of You"
Hey Guys-Charles Tilley just posted my new song on his Website. Thanks Tilley..It is from the Movie "The Benny Goodman Story", one of his favorite Moderately Jazzy solos.
"Memories of You".
In 1991 in Florida, we used to rent a house for the winters and I taped a video of this and several other songs.
I might put one on YouTube if I know how.
They were on my Sho-Bud Super-Pro D10 that I had then with the same 20 Yr old Crate Amp I still have.
It sure is nice to be able to hear all the songs played by the members of this Forum. This is a great feature, thanks to Charles Tilley....al.

Thank you Al for your kind comments. I listened to your new song and you did a fantastic job, it sounds excellent. I love the songs done by Benny Goodman and Glenn Miller ...well, everyone of the greats from that time, its really some of my favorite kind of music. I'm not a professional musician but those classic tunes sure do feel me with joy when I hear them and they help me to express my love for music with my guitars.

Many thanks
Many of you have posted here and said some very nice things about me and the other players on my site and I thank you for doing so. We are a family and we love not only the instrument but those who play it. I have developed some very dear relationships with some of the players and enjoy just sitting and going down the list and listening again and again. There is some real talent out there that we have never heard. I have just touched the tip of what is available.
Thanks to you all and GOD BLESS.

Well Charles you sure do have that E9th traditional sound, it sounds excellent, great job on that tune. I got a chance to listen to Tracy's Waltz by Richard Burton...your really makin that ZB sound fantastic...keep up the great work friends. My close friend Susan Trujillo has her new song posted...its an Everly Brothers tune called Bye Bye Love. I am very proud of how Susan is progressing with her steel playing.

Charles,
I just want to publicly thank you for posting not only my own track submissions, but all these other players who send their songs. I've seen some of the names on the forum for a long time, and it's nice to put a sound to the names (including you're own fine tracks). All the best to you, friend.

New player at web site
You players and listeners that appreciate all the steel guitar can offer need to visit www.etsga.org/steelguitarplayers.htm and listen to Jim Hoak. This is a great piece. Jim also wrote a piece that has some singing but is not on my web site due to that.
A very fine artist for sure. Thanks to Jim for sharing his talent with all of us.

Thanks John and Bernie. I had the chance to download a few more fine recordings.
Roy Thomson- "If you could read my mind". I remember all the fine songs you emailed to me over the years and now this one on Tilley's site is no exception. you still got it. Smooth and fine tone.I assume it is non-pedal.
Charles Tilley-,"Dance of the Dolls", Great playing of that lovely song you wrote. Now you are a talented Songwriter too..
Richard Burton-"Tracey's Waltz". A fine tune on E9 and done very well.
Mike Headrick-"I threw away the Rose" -A great clasic E9th solo. Good tone too.
Jim Hoak-Tilley told me to check this out and it sure is different compared to what we are hearing daily. Is that non-Pedal? Nice tone and execution.
This is sure nice to have this site of Tilley's to hear all the great players here on the Forum. Great job setting this up for us Charles....al.:)

My Song for next Month- "Unforgettable"
Charles Tilley just posted my new song for next month" "Unforgettable". Thanks Tilley.
This is a different version than the one that I did for Drew Howard to put on YouTube.
I hope you all like it. I remember when Nat King Cole sang this so beautifully in the Mid 50's, Great arrangement too.A big hit for him.
I like to play all these old big band, jazz Classics, these days. And am thankful that I can still able to at my age. Brings back a lot of good memories.
I got Bill Stafford's Newest CD and he plays Great on Unforgettable and some of these old songs.
He is the Master at Mr. Smooth. I wish I could get the tone that he gets on that EXcel....al.
