Hi Wiz,
Usually I download updates and just let Firefox do its trick and install "over top of" the previous version.
When I got notification about the 3.0.2 version, I clicked, but Firefox couldn't do it automatically for some reason and I was asked to dl it manually which I did.
So now, upon installation, can I still install the new one over top of the old one without uninstalling the old version first?
My "old" version is 3.0.1 Is there much of a benefit to get the 3.0.2?
The old one seems to be working ok.
Your advice and opinion is , as always, greatly appreciated.

| Can it be installed "over" Firefox 2.0.0.16? That's what I have now. I've been saying "Later" to repeated prompts to download Firefox 3 because I was under the impression there were problems with it. A few minutes ago I received a prompt to download 2.0.0.17. I said "Later" to that and apparently it will now install when Firefox restarts. Should I then uninstall Firefox 2 and install Firefox 3.0.2, or just install 3.0.2? (or neither?) |

When Firefox 3.0 was released I upgraded right over version 2.0.0.16. Since then I have updated twice, on top of 3.0, without data loss or problems. However, several of my themes and add-ons were incompatible with Firefox 3.x browsers and had to be either updated or disabled.
It never hurts to backup up, or export your Bookmarks and cookies (and signons.txt).
