Sacred Steeler Aubrey Ghent's kid A.J.
I saw him play when he was about 14 and he blew
me away then. He must be 19 or 20 now.

That right hand is completely mind-blowing! |

Nice job. I look forward to hearing more from him, all right. I wish I could play that triple note playing he's doing as well as he does it.
Even though this is just a video of him goofing around at home, it shows his technique to good advantage. Thanks for sharing.
This related video shows him with a band and is another view of his playing. _________________ Brad’s Page of Steel

What do suppose the tuning is for that first video? Sounds like those pentatonic runs just spill off of his fingers. Excellent blocking. _________________ https://www.facebook.com/ggefell/ |

Great!!
Nice rhythm patterns with the thumbpick!
I can't tell how many strings are on the guitar, but when he hits those two chords on the end, the lower strings sure sound like some sort of C6th chord. |

His father plays six string G tuning, the same as you would use on a Dobro. He does a hammer on the first string where you can hear the high string is D, so I would assume it to be an eight string G tuning, perhaps with a 6th in it as Bill Hatcher poined out.
Someone should ask him! He has a Myspace page.

Geez, that single note playing on the low strings in that second video sound just like a man singing/humming. |
