This past weekend was one of the most enjoyable in memory for me. The Northeast Oklahoma Steel Guitar Club has one of the nicest and roomiest gathering facilities imaginable and the guys in the club did a great job of putting the show on ! My friend, Donley Harrington, did a fine job with the P.A. System and the entertainment was first class with Tom Brumley, Joe Wright, Buck Granthum, Rev. Wayne Smith Louie Hallford and a host of the more local players performing.
The fellowship was especially enjoyable for me with lots of time to just set and visit and make new acquaintances. All of the sets were great and I would not dare try to cover them for fear of missng one but one number that raised the hair on my forearms big time was Jack Terry and Larry King singing that great Ray Price hit entitled (in Jim Cohen's words) "A Way To Serve Five" backed by Mr Don Compston on steel. Wow !!! Can Jack Terry sing a country song or what ? Also Louie Hallford's friend, Jack, teamed up with Jerry Roller on "Night Life" Shades of Emmons all over --great job guys !!!!
Don Compston mentioned on his set, "with facilities like this, this could become the midwest capitol for steel shows" and I believe that . To Roger and all the guys at the club--thanks so much for the hard work and providing one of the most enjoyable week ends I've had. -  |

| Bill, I'm glad you enjoyed the convention. Personally I thought it was the best one yet. I think you got the name wrong on the fiddle player and vocalist. His name is John Terry and the bass player and vocalist from Texas is Jack . We're all looking forward to having a jam in September. Thanks for all the nice comments. I personally would like to thank Debbie Carger, Lynn, and all the other ladies that helped with the food. |

| Bill, it was great to meet you and get acquainted. There were to many new friends to mention them all, but it was a great pleasure to spend some quality time in fellowship with such friendly folks. I also believe with those facilities it could become the a great place for people to gather for a HUGE convention. Roger, his wife, their staff and all the folks who worked so hard to make it a great time are to be commended for their labor. We can't wait to get back in Siloam for another round of outstanding pickin'. See you soon. Wayne |

Whoops !!!! Thanks for catching that slip, Norma---fact is I know better --just getting old and --whatever --  As making amends may I offer if any would like to hear John and Larry team up on those great shuffle vocals, the last I knew the band is scheduled to be back at Cowskin Prairie at Grove, Ok. a week from this Sat (4/26) For a great relaxed evening of good food and great country music, you won't go away wanting !!!
