I was happy to recommend John Terry as the staff fiddle player for the NEOSGA convention this past week end. I thought he did a great job, playing better than I've heard him before and I admire the stamina of he and Buck Grantham and Dwain Carger...they racked up about 20 hrs each of stage time. For those of you who enjoyed his singing, I'm forced to tolerate that every week end. One thing you may not be aware of is that John hand builds all his own fiddles. These are fully hand carved tops, not steamed, pressed, or laminated. The sides and backs are highly flamed maple and are book matched...cosmetically they're gorgeous, and they sound like a million bucks. Most of you will recognize the name Bobby Flores. Bobby plays with Price when he wants to and has recorded all of the latest Johnny Bush, Justin Trevino, Jake Hooker, Dicky Overbey, ets projects...lets put it this way..if it's country and it's recorded in Texas, chances are Bobby's on the session. If you go to his web site, you'll get a better feel for his work and accomplishments....a most impressive list. Bobby plays a John Terry fiddle. 'Nuff said? need more? Ernie Reed will be at the shop next week to spec out his new fiddle. Ernie's history includes extended stays with Faron and Tillis. SO...if you or anyone you know needs a custom made fiddle, I'm recommending my daughter's husband. He can be reached at (417) 358-3745 in Carthage, Mo. A final thought about the NEOSGA ...I thought Roger(cut to the chase) Osbourn and his capable staff put on the best produced, best managed, well thought out show of any I've been involved with, from the venue to the rooms to the welcome baskets in the rooms to the food and drink in the players lounge....every i was dotted and every t was crossed, nothing left to chance...the music was great and the fellowship was better. Thanks to all involved.

Larry, that was very well said and it all needed to be said. Roger is doing a tremendous job with the club. As a past President I must admit he has taken it to at least one new level. A remarkably planned out and executed show. It was a blast!!
Oh, and the fiddle player was a pleasure to be on the stage with. I enjoyed all the guys in the backup band. (You too Buck! )

I was privileged to attend Saturday night and thoroughly enjoyed the show. The new location was very nice. There is plenty of opportunity for growth. The backup players were great. The steel players all did a fantastic job! Looking forward to next year.
