what program can i get for free?
I used my debit card 1 time to a reputable company that has been in business for 50 years and someone got my mastercard numbers and wiped out my checking account before i caught it. The bank is trying to get some of my money back. I called this company and they told me that i'm not the only one that this is going on around the nation. The only way i found out was a company called me for more info before they shipped my microwave to conn. that i didn't order. Noone knows how this is happening is what the bank told me but it is happening to a lot of people in all states very rapidly. So BEWARE. But in need something to stop anyone from getting any info from my computor. I have ava something. I can't remember the rest of the name right now. ( a senior moment). I ran a scan and i didn't show up anything. Please help me. Jimmie

The criminals behind this are hacking into databases used by various companies, including both online and offline retailers. I once had money taken unlawfully from my account when somebody at either a restaurant or gas station double-swiped my debit card! The bank refunded the money within a few days of my complaint.
Most debit cards are now "insured" against fraudulant losses, but you may still be liable for the first $50.
Recently there was a multi-national conviction is a case in which defendants (now inmates) sat outside certain retail stores and intercepted credit card transactions occuring inside the stores, while sitting in their cars, using very sensitive receivers with directional antennas and specialized software.

I once used my card to buy something from the Cleveland Indians online store. My next couple of statements started showing a bunch of charges adding up to thousands. I started calling the numbers listed next to the merchants name, and it turns out that they were billing companies for porn sites. I filed a police report and they were able to track the guy down using his email address that he used when he signed up at the websites. One company actually (probably illegally) gave the police his personal info. THey contacted him but the local police in Cleveland couldn't be bothered. I was able to recover the charges as credits from the billing sites, all but a charge of $9.95 from one of the sites who wouldn't budge.
