Subject: April's Elders Ball

You’re invited to April's “ELDERS BALL”.

What is it you say? Too many times we run into friends of ours in the music business that we haven’t seen in years and wonder how that much time could pass us by. We are trying to do something about that and we hope you’ll support our efforts. You never know what old friends you'll see or what new friends you'll make.

We had a blast in March and we have a fun day planned for April's event which will be held on Sunday, April 6th, from 4-8 p.m.. Your hosts of this months event are Rod Ham, Jack Daniels, Dina Johnson, Buck Reid, Billy Johnson, Hoot Hester, & Tim Atwood. It will again take place at the Broken Spoke Saloon (in the Ramada Inn at I-65 and Trinity Lane).

While we likely won't be able to have special guests every month, we were fortunate enough to have Daryle Singletary offer to come by and jam some with us this time. He is certainly one of the newer artists who are helping to keep traditional country music alive so be sure to let him know how much we appreciate that! There will be lots of traditional country pickin’, singin’, jammin’ and such and we want you to be involved! We expect a packed house so get there early to get a good seat.

If you would like to offer your help in some way please let me know, as we will need some help with various things from month to month. If you know of others that would like to attend, please either forward this invitation to them or copy the body of the email into a new message. I am also collecting email addresses so have your friends email me to get on our list. Help us spread the word! Also, be sure to set your clocks forward the night before or else you'll be an hour late.

My email address is Hamsj@bellsouth.net if you need any further information. Hope to see you there.

This is being held in Nashville by the way. Just passing this on so everyone will know. It should be a real hoot! Connie Smith was there last month.

Yep, I was there and got to pick with Cliff Parker, Steve Hinson on lead guitar after a great set playing steel and the rest of the gang. Thanks to Buck Reid for letting me use his guitar. This was the second Elders Ball and the turn out gets better every time . Lots of picker and grinners came out this month. Steve, your Becky sure sings great and looks a whole lot better than you. Thanks to Rod Ham, Billy and Dian Johnson, Hoot Hester, Jack Daniels, Tim Atwood, and Buck Reid for hosting this gig. Steve, I enjoyed visiting with you, "Cookie", Buck Reid and Mike Johnson. You guys all sounded great on Buck's RED JCH. It may be the best sounding steel I've ever heard!! All the other "sit in" musicians were a big asset to the show. All I can say about Daryl Singletary is, WOW!!!!

Again, THANKS to all for an unforgettable evening of COUNTRY MUSIC and fun.

Bob
